*NEW in 2018* Working-Member Positions!

We have two blocks of time available in 2018: Saturday mornings 8:30-11:30 and Monday afternoons 1:30-4:30. Small share members work the first two hours of each shift for their weekly box, and large share members work the full three hours for their weekly box. You only work during the weeks we deliver boxes (typically mid-June through early November).

FARM INTERN (2018 positions open: 2)

Start: May 14 or after

End: August 17 or after

Days: Monday-Friday, some Saturday mornings

Hours: 36-40 hrs per week. 

Compensation: $450 per month stipend plus housing, meals and vegetables

 

Responsibilities: A Farm Intern will have the opportunity to work side-by-side with fellow vegetable farmers, participating in tasks essential to vegetable production at Old Plank Farm. This includes, but is not limited to: seeding, transplanting, weeding, harvesting, washing, and packing vegetables. Other tasks an intern may be involved in could include: working at on-farm Pizza Dinner events, greenhouse work, vegetable processing, and general farm maintenance/building. Interns will have access to books and other resources related to organic vegetable production. Optional independent projects may be available, based on individuals interests.

Skills Desired: Must be able to work well independently or with a team. Must be able to work under difficult environmental conditions (heat, cold, rain), and be able to lift at least 40 lbs. on a regular basis. Must have a positive attitude, interest in efficiency, passion for learning, and a sense of humor.

HARVEST CREW (1-2 positions) Filled for 2018

Start Date: June 

End Date: September 

Days: Monday 7:30am-4:00pm and/or Tuesday 7:30am-12pm 

Hours: 8-12 hrs per week, depending on candidate’s availability and farm’s needs. Compensation: starting $8/hr + vegetable “seconds”. No housing or meals. 

 

Responsibilities: A HARVEST CREW MEMBER is required to participate in tasks essential to the CSA harvests at Old Plank Farm. This includes harvesting, washing, and packing vegetables. Other field tasks may occasionally be required. 

 

Skills Desired: Must be able to work well with a team. Must be able to work under difficult environmental conditions (heat, cold, rain), and be able to lift at least 40 lbs. on a regular basis. Must have a positive attitude, interest in efficiency, and a sense of humor.  


FIELD CREW MEMBER (2-3 positions) Filled for 2018

Start: May 

End: October 

Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 

Hours: 16-32 hrs per week depending on candidate’s availability and farm’s needs. 

Compensation: starting $8/hr + vegetable “seconds”. No housing or meals. 

 

Responsibilities: A FIELD CREW MEMBER is required to participate in tasks essential to vegetable production at Old Plank Farm. This includes, but is not limited to: seeding, transplanting, weeding, harvesting, washing, and packing vegetables. Other tasks that may be occasionally required include: greenhouse work, vegetable processing, washing and packing eggs, and general farm maintenance.
